"Where are YOU LORD -- He was not in the whirlwind -- or the storm but HE was in the "SMALL STILL VOICE"
Shared this earlier today with a precious sister in the Lord --------
Little "things" amaze me --- the "things" we hardly notice - quiet unassuming - in the shadows type "things" but "they" speak LOUDLY of GRACE at work --- but rarely are they sought after by people for they require a "price" - they bring no "attention" -- but "they" oooze of the "fullness" of Grace, and they come from humility and saturate all around them with goodness --
I try and take my wife to Branson every 3 months or so -- she enjoys the shows and a chance to get away for a long weekend --- while there the last time , we ate at Crackerbarrel , the place was BUSY -- when we sat down and ordered our food , I noticed two older black men with worn look , plain clothes, weather beatened skin and gnarly hands, maybe 60 year olds , they were there before we were seated --
We received our coffee -- then abit later our food came -- all this time, they had not even been served their coffee -- we were well into the middle of our meal when their coffee finally arrived !
Inside I am fuming -- upset at such poor service these men were receiving -- the clientele , this afternoon were older people , driving caddilacs and buicks , retirees -- and here in the middle of this room these two unassuming men with hard worn looks sat quietly -- I am thinking as I observed them , I would tell the management of such bad service -- etc. etc. ---
Finally , their coffee arrived and Lo and Behold , these two men looked up and smiled and said thankyou and then bowed their heads to the Lord of Grace and quietly thanked HIM for their food --
Here is super impressive, passing-thru Bob full of fuming over their injustice and I witnessed Grace at work --- two worn , weathered, unimpressive vessels , sitting in the crowd of life , letting Grace "work" HIS perfect work ----------- I am always amazed ---
God uses broken , worn vessels --- Grace is a beautiful when allowed to work
Good nite and yes I will remember to pray --- blessings

dear passing-thru,
ReplyDeletethe story of these two gentlemen brought tears to my eyes...the way that they were waiting so long, and just to think that they gave thanks to the lord.
what a testimony and i'll just bet that they left their waitress a nice tip and becasue of their christ-like attitude, they could leave a little gospel tract...
i am up later than usual because i have been trying to phone amrita but just haven't been able to get through.
i will try again tomorrow!
