Doing it God's Way

ANOTHER FRIDAY NITE POST ---

Col. 3:1 "If ye then be risen with Christ , seek "those" things which are above"

And here I will add abit from the gospel of Bob -- " seek those things, God's way" for it is way too easy to do "things" our way --

Case in point -- First Peter 3: 1-2 Here God's way is for a godly wife to be a humble example of love even with an ungodly husband --- Now , not only in this example but in ALL of our "doings" we are to believe God and let HIM work HIS work thru us as we believe in HIS POWER to do to the uttermost what flesh cannot do - no matter how hard we try ---

Back to the godly wife story :

George Mueller tells of a german clergy man that he knew first hand and this gentleman tells of a godly wife whose rich husband was a glutton and would stay in the taverns till late every nite -- he would come home in a stupor, she met him at the door, led him to his room , never complained , or showed angry attitude -- nite after nite --this was the scene --

One nite in the tavern, this man "brags" to his friends, that his wife would be waiting at the door when he gets in and even if he brought his friends with him , she would greet them, show them in, and if they asked for a meal, she would make them one , not show any anger ,and be courteous even if it was till midnight ---

They said , let us see if she will --- they went to this man's house - upon getting there , this man's wife opened the door -- was courteous, took their coats, ,the husband said " we are hungry" upon which she went into the kitchen and made them all a fine meal --- she then seen to their needs and retired to her room without a single complaint or angry look ---

After a few minutes, one of the "friends" said to the rich husband --- U know ! your a rotten guy to have such a good wife and U treat her so badly -- he then got up , never touched the food and took his coat and left ---- One by one his friends all said and did the same , leaving the rich husband alone and he thought --- Oh , I am so bad --- conviction swept in and he went to his wife and repented of all and found the Lord as his Saviour ,because of a believing wife --- a wife that "did it" God's way ----------

(Now more than likely, we would have knocked the stuffings out of that drunk husband) or give him a piece of our minds -- lol ------------ but , there-in lies the difference
